GLOBALIZATION:
poor nations receiving the benefits of affluent nations rhetoric |
Whilst in general terms the word 'globalization' could be used to describe any process which was spreading
progressively around the earth, never-the-less current use of the concept has significant implications of exploitation.
This has happened because the aspirations of commercial money-making organizations have been able to successfully
circumvent national boundaries and exploit the differing internal circumstances to their benefit.
To many, globalization has come to mean the attempt by the avarice-motivated affluent to extend the base layers of their
transnational economic pyramids down into the mud and dust of intercontinental slave-labour
and thereby provide a more distributed foundation for the additional control levels at the pinnacles.
This is generally achieved by fronting a publicly plausible co-operative initiative
that presents an economic procedure purporting to assist development of the under-privileged,
whilst in fact further enhancing the gains of those manipulating the exercise.
Since deception is nature's way of promoting self interest, to suppose such actions were not designed to deceive,
would be to suppose that one of the prime evolutionary stratagems had suddenly ceased to be effective.
The purple prose... with which the rich internationals assure the concerned about the benefits their activities will bring...
is replete with propaganda, deception and cynical assurances.
Oil, coal and minerals will bring untold riches to the region.
Forestry, gold and fishing will create thousands of employment opportunities.
The manufacturing of shoes and clothing and electronic hardware will provide employment and hope to the underprivileged.
One must never forget that the principal purpose for the presence of multinationals is not the realisation of the various
utopian scenarios they suggest are possible.
The phenomena is further compounded by the situation in those countries where there is not an intrinsically socialist
government, because any improvements for the most needy will always be minimalised.
The group in power will ensure that the reconfigured redistribution of resources is securely channelled in their direction
and that it is not wasted on those individuals who do not understand how to manage their affairs.
They understand clearly that it is either the will of the gods themselves as to who should be poor,
or it is the moral turpitude and laziness of the poor which has resulted in their condition.
There is no point in dissipating funds trying to change what the gods have decreed.
Neither is there any point in giving alms to the unworthy who only ever fritter it away on luxuries.
The reality is that if the human species is ever to control itself and balance its participation
in the global ecosystem... an extraordinarily unlikely achievement given its behaviour to date...
a globalization process of controls needs to be implemented and a de-globalization of exploitation must be achieved.
Globalization of birth control is the single primary implementation that would alleviate innumerable
environmental crises, but in the absence of some form of compulsion or violent enforcement,
it will always be thwarted by insane religious and social beliefs.
Globalization of financial controls would go a long way towards curbing the worst
excesses of international exploitation, but creating a global authority with the power to restrain...
democratically vindicated by the global population... will be obstructed by those
countries that benefit from the exploitation, tax havens and the innumerable pockets of self-interest.
The present globalization of the human species is so obviously heading towards a corrective adjustment
event that the wonder is why awareness of this
fact does not bring with it the capability of action.
When fungi have exhausted their food supply, they have the ability to create spores that contain their
genes and which can drift off and explore the environment randomly for another food opportunity.
Once maggots have consumed all the fleshy bits, they pupate and hatch as flies equipped to locate further resources.
Once humans have utilised all the available global resources, one presumes they will have either
evolved the ability to become intergalactic spores or pupate into interplanetary flies.
