Johny was a rich man
who gambled for his hay
he made his bucks by betting big
on odds he thought might pay
he struck it rich and cashed his chips
then salted it away
inside a trust with crypic keys
to wait a rainy day


Johny was a leader
he liked to have his say
he led a team to parliament
and governed by a yay
he waved a silver fronded flag
with stars the main display
and thought he saw his name in lights
beyond the last hooray


Johny played his right hand
and put his left on stay
he talked a lot of smoothly talk
and sometimes an inveigh
he helped the wealthy move on up
and multiply their pay
and hoped each time the polls were took
their votes would let him stay
